Erbil, Kurdistan Region, 30 July 2019 – The President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani received Mr Maciej Lang, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland. In the meeting, Mr Lang expressed his delight for visiting Iraq and the Kurdistan Region for the first time, spoke about his meetings in Baghdad; also praised the Kurdistan Region’s role in hosting a vast number of refugees and internally displaces persons (IDPs). Additionally, Mr Lang reiterated his country will to improve relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
President Barzani expressed his appreciation for Mr Lang’s visit, and highlighted opportunities on which the Kurdistan Region and Poland can strengthen their relations. Also, President Barzani presented a brief on the fight against Da’esh and its implications, improvement of relations between Erbil and Baghdad and resolving between them in accordance with the Constitution.
Latest political developments in the area, and encourage private sectors of both sides to cooperate were among discussed topics.
