President of the Kurdistan Region Receives Netherlands’ Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, 30 July 2019 – President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani met Matthias Wolters the Netherlands ambassador to Iraq. Mr Wolters expressed his appreciation for the support of President Barzani and the institutions of the Kurdistan Region, and he reiterated his country’s desire to improve relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Also, he expressed his appreciation for the Kurdistan Region’s support for refugees and displaced persons.

In the meeting which was held in Erbil, President Barzani highly acknowledged the works and activities of Mr Wolters and wished him success in his future duties. He stressed on the Kurdistan Region’s willingness in improving the relations with the Netherlands. Also, he underscored the current relations between Erbil and Baghdad and stressed on Iraq’s security as significant for the Kurdistan Region.

Developing economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Netherlands were among discussed topics.
