Statement from Kurdistan Region Presidency

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, along with the relevant authorities, is closely monitoring the criminal attack that took place yesterday in Duhok, where a group of Christian citizens celebrating Akitu were assaulted, resulting in injuries to two people.

We strongly condemn this act of violence and reassure all the people of Kurdistan that the Region will continue to be a bastion of coexistence, peace, and stability for all its communities. The principles of coexistence, mutual acceptance, and tolerance will never be compromised under any circumstances, and those responsible for this crime will face legal consequences.
