Statement from the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region strongly condemns today’s attack on the UAE Consulate General in Erbil, which left two security guards injured and caused damage to the consulate building.

We extend our sincere wishes for a full and swift recovery to those wounded in this attack. At the same time, we emphasize the necessity for the Iraqi government to uphold its responsibility to safeguard diplomatic representatives, prevent the recurrence of such attacks, and identify and hold accountable those responsible, so that the country’s security and interests are no longer at risk.
