It is with a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of Bishop Raban Hasqiel Raban al-Qas, a prominent Christian and devoted luminary of Kurdistan. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, relatives, friends and the Christian community.
He was a prominent religious and social figure, who served immensely within religious, education and cultural issues. He was a strong defender of Kurdistan, peaceful coexistence and solidarity in Kurdistan, in Iraq and around the world.
May God Almighty bestow His mercy upon him and grant everyone comfort and patience.
