Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Sheikh Nahro Muhammad Abdulkarim Kasnazani, the Spiritual leader of the Kasnazani Qadiri Order and his accompanying delegation, in Erbil, on Tuesday.
At the meeting, attended by Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs Dr. Pshtiwan Sadiq, President Nechirvan Barzani once again offered his condolences on the passing of his late father, Sheikh Muhammad Abdulkarim Kasnazani, the former Spiritual leader of the Kasnazani Qadiri Order. The President extended his sympathy to him, his esteemed family, and the followers of the Kasnazani Qadiri order.
Kurdistan Region President highlighted the important role that Sufism has played in maintaining moderation, peacefulness, tolerance, rejection of extremism and peaceful coexistence with other religions and Orders. The President praised the role of Sheikh Nahro and the Kasnazani Qadiri Order and expressed appreciation to their social and religious position in Kurdistan.
For his part, Sheikh Nahro Kasnazani expressed appreciation and delight at meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Region and talked about their plans and preparations to hold a conference on Sufism in which the messages of moderation, tolerance and peacefulness will be highlighted. President Nechirvan Barzani offered his and the Kurdistan Region Presidency’s full support for this conference.
