We strongly condemn the rocket attack against the international coalition forces in Al-Taji military base, near Baghdad last night that killed and wounded a number of coalition soldiers.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and their countries and reiterate that this assault is an alarming development, which will harm Iraq’s interests and security. The attack takes place at a time when terror resurgence is looming and ISIS remains a serious threat to the security and stability of Iraq and the wider region. Iraq still needs the support of the global coalition to confront threat.
We urge the authorities to find the perpetrators of this assault and bring them to justice. We also ask authorities to prevent the continuation of such attacks and hostilities, which will lead to further instability.
