Following the issuance of the Regional Decree for his appointment, the new governor of Erbil took the oath of office, in a ceremony presided by President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani.
President Barzani congratulated Dr. Firsat Sofi on assuming his new duties and wished him success. President Barzani also expressed his appreciation to the former Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi for his service.
The ceremony was also attended by the Kurdistan Regional Government Minister of Interior, Rebar Ahmed.
