President Nechirvan Barzani met with the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas at the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Sunday afternoon.
Their meeting focused on Estonia's relations and cooperation with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially in the security field, as well as the role of Estonian forces in the international coalition against ISIS in the Kurdistan Region. They also discussed the security and political situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides stressed their shared hope to develop ties in all sectors. They also discussed the visit of Estonian President Alar Karis and his delegation to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region last month, when he met with President Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil. For his part, the President thanked the Estonian forces for their contribution in the Kurdistan Region.
Exchanging insights regarding the latest developments in the Middle East, the wars in Gaza and Ukraine and their impact, were highlighted as well.
