Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani spoke to the Governor of Dohuk, Mr. Ali Tatar, on Friday to closely follow up the situation in the Sharya Camp where a large fire broke out earlier today causing several injuries. The camp, which hosts displaced Yezidi families, sustained great damage as a result of the fire.
During the phone call, the President expressed his and the Kurdistan Region Presidency’s readiness to provide assistance to those affected by the fire and ordered the relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to rescue and assist the affected refugees.
For his part, the Governor of Dohuk expressed his appreciation for President Nechirvan Barzani's call and follow-up, and briefed the President on the latest about the situation in the camp, and the rescue and recovery efforts.
