In a phone call today, President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Mr. Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), on successfully holding the party’s fifth congress and on his reelection as the party’s president. President Nechirvan Barzani extended his congratulations to the leadership, members and supporters of the PUK.
The President said he hoped that the PUK leadership will be successful in their work and that the PUK and other political parties will work together to achieve greater unity and solidarity and protect the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region.
Mr. Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the PUK, expressed his gratitude to President Nechirvan Barzani for his phone call and for his participation in the opening of the party's congress.
