President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Mohammed Ismail, the head of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), along with a delegation from the council.
The ENKS delegation shared updates on the current situation in Syria, focusing on the conditions of the Kurds and other communities within the country, and discussed the council’s role in the political process and the ongoing negotiations.
President Nechirvan Barzani stressed the necessity of unity and mutual understanding among Kurdish factions, reiterating that the Kurdistan Region will continue to support negotiation efforts. He also stated that coexistence and the protection of the rights of all communities are essential foundations for stability and progress in the country.
In response, the ENKS delegation expressed their appreciation for President Nechirvan Barzani’s ongoing efforts to address the Kurdish issue in Syria and for the unwavering support of the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting also covered the broader regional situation and other matters of shared interest.
