Today marks the painful 46th anniversary of the genocide, deportation, and disappearance of our Feyli brothers and sisters. They were oppressed and faced execution, murder, arrest, disappearance, and expulsion, while being stripped of their citizenship, wealth, and property solely for being Kurds and for standing up for the identity and legitimate rights of their nation.
The forced deportation of hundreds of thousands of Feylis and the disappearance of tens of thousands more represent a racist Ba’athist genocide that has left Iraq with a somber history and a painful legacy. On this occasion, we emphasize that the Iraqi Federal Government must meet its responsibilities and, in line with the ruling of the Iraqi High Criminal Court, which classified the act as genocide, provide material and moral compensation to the victims and restore their citizenship and property.
The struggle, loyalty, and sacrifices of our Feyli Kurdish brothers and sisters will forever remain a source of pride for our people. This bitter past must serve as a lesson for us all, guiding us toward a brighter future rooted in unity and mutual acceptance in Iraq. We remain steadfast in that pursuit, and stand firmly behind every effort required to make it a reality.
Peace and blessings to the souls of the Feyli Kurdish martyrs and all the martyrs of Kurdistan. We send our greetings and respect to their proud families and relatives.
