President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, during the Munich Security Conference today.
The two engaged in a conversation regarding the evolution of Qatar's ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, placing particular emphasis on the current circumstances in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the recent events unfolding in the Middle East, with a specific focus on Syria.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering peace and stability in Syria, while also addressing the Kurdish situation and other communities in the new Syria. In this context, President Barzani emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of the Kurds and all communities, as well as ensuring their meaningful involvement in shaping Syria's future.
The two parties also engaged in discussions regarding the Kurdistan Region's relationships with its neighboring countries, as well as other matters of mutual concern.
