President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting today with Ms. Victoria Taylor, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq and Iran at the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, along with the accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on United States relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the dynamics between Erbil and Baghdad. They discussed the ongoing efforts to establish a new Cabinet for the Kurdistan Regional Government, the current political landscape in Iraq, and recent developments. They also covered regional issues, and shared perspectives on the situation in Syria.
Both parties acknowledged the significance of addressing the concerns between Erbil and Baghdad in alignment with the Constitution, legal frameworks, and existing agreements. They emphasized the need to uphold peace and stability in the region while refraining from engaging in the tensions and conflicts in the Middle East.
