President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed a delegation from the leadership of the DEM Party (Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party), along with several Kurdish politicians who were present at the disarmament ceremony of a group of PKK.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed their gratitude for President Nechirvan Barzani’s contributions and efforts toward the success of the peace process in Türkiye. They also reiterated their expectation of his continued support and cooperation in the upcoming phases and overall success of the process.
President Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of enhancing efforts to ensure the success of the peace process. He commended the disarmament of the PKK and expressed appreciation for the commitment demonstrated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan toward advancing the process.
Both sides emphasized that achieving peace serves the interests of all parties, including Türkiye and the broader region. To this end, it is essential for everyone to provide their full support, and they concurred that additional measures will help to further progress the process.
The delegation expressed gratitude to President Nechirvan Barzani and the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region for their support and facilitation in every aspect that contributed to the success of today’s disarmament ceremony.
