Continuing his meetings in Munich, Germany, on the last day of Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani met with a delegation from the SPD parliamentary group led by Mr. Nils Schmid.
The meeting, also attended by the Vice President of the Bundestag, Ms. Aydan Özoğuz, discussed the developments in the Kurdistan Region, the relations between Baghdad and Erbil and their ongoing talks to resolve their differences, the status of the Yezidis in the refugee camps and in Shingal district.
Both sides stressed the importance of resolving the Erbil-Baghdad issues, and the need for unity and resolution of differences among the political parties in the Kurdistan Region.
For his part, President Nechirvan Barzani offered the gratitude of the Kurdistan Region to the German Bundestag for recognizing the genocide of the Yezidis.
Discussions also included the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.
