President Nechirvan Barzani meets with Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher

During the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See.

Their discussions focused on recent developments in the region, as well as the situation of various religious and ethnic communities. President Nechirvan Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s dedication to safeguarding the rights of all communities and fostering a culture of coexistence.

Archbishop Gallagher commended the atmosphere of tolerance and coexistence present in the Kurdistan Region and conveyed the Holy See’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
