During the second day of the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev today.
President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated President Aliyev on his recent re-election and emphasized the importance of enhancing relations between Azerbaijan, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.
The discussion also included plans for the opening of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Erbil, which is expected to strengthen bilateral ties. Furthermore, President Aliyev extended an invitation to President Barzani to attend this year’s United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku. Both leaders also addressed the current situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the significance of peace and stability in the region.
