The President and General Vowell discussed the latest developments in the fight against terrorism and the continuing threat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria. They also discussed the reform process in the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs and the ongoing efforts to unify the Peshmerga and the challenges facing its unification.
The two stressed that both in Iraq and Syria, all parties must cooperate to prevent the resurgence of ISIS, which remains a real threat to regional security and stability. They also agreed that individuals who have been freed from ISIS captivity or leave the camps need to be effectively reintegrated into society, emphasizing the imperative of preventing the rise of extremism.
Furthermore, they emphasised that despite certain advancements in the reformation and reunification of the Peshmerga, there are still significant challenges that must be overcome.
In this context, the President emphasised the Kurdistan Region's dedication to continuing to work for the success of the process and the reunification of the Peshmarga.
