President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum today.
During the meeting, they discussed Russia’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, with a particular focus on economic cooperation. They also exchanged views on the overall situation in Iraq and the wider region, including current political and security developments.
Both sides emphasized the importance they attach to relations between Russia, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, and reaffirmed their mutual desire to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The meeting also addressed Erbil-Baghdad relations, the situation in Syria, and several other matters of shared interest.
