President Nechirvan Barzani received Italian Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Maurizio Greganti and his delegation.
The meeting was held to address the most recent security and political developments in Iraq, the region, and the Middle East. Additionally, the budget, the Erbil-Baghdad issues, and the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region were discussed with the aim of finding effective solutions.
The President and Ambassador Greganti agreed that the concerns between Erbil and Baghdad need to be addressed through constructive dialogue, in full compliance with the Iraqi Constitution. Furthermore, they emphasized the imperative of fostering unity among the political factions within the Kurdistan Region.
The two parties had a fruitful discussion regarding the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Italian Embassy in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, with a particular focus on archaeology.
