President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Mazloum Abdi on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, focusing on the latest political and security situation in Syria and the wider region.
The President stressed the need for ongoing dialogue and mutual understanding to reach a political solution in Syria—one that safeguards the rights of Kurds and all other communities within a united Syria and its future constitution.
Mr. Mazloum Abdi expressed his gratitude to President Masoud Barzani and the Kurdistan Region Presidency for their persistent efforts and significant role in stabilizing the situation and facilitating a ceasefire agreement between Damascus and the SDF.
Another topic of discussion was the potential resurgence of ISIS and the threat of terrorism.
