President Nechirvan Barzani meets with President Emmanuel Macron

As part of his engagements at the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Emmanuel Macron, President of France.

Their discussions focused on the most recent political and security developments in the region, including the situation in Syria. Both sides emphasized the necessity of safeguarding Kurdish rights in the future constitution of a unified Syria.

President Nechirvan Barzani conveyed the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude for France’s ongoing friendship and support, as well as its commitment to defending the constitutional rights of the people of Kurdistan. Both sides concurred on the significance of international cooperation to ensure regional stability.
