President Nechirvan Barzani engaged in discussions with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria on the second day of the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting focused on enhancing the relationship between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Bulgaria, with an emphasis on fostering collaboration in economic matters, as well as addressing political and security developments in Iraq and the surrounding region.
President Barzani highlighted the Kurdistan Region's commitment to advancing ties with Bulgaria and commended Bulgaria's contributions to the international coalition against terrorism, while also expressing optimism about exploring new avenues for cooperation in shared interests.
In response, President Rumen Radev conveyed Bulgaria's willingness to bolster its relationship with the Kurdistan Region, underscoring the significance of collaboration in both security and economic sectors, and acknowledged the Kurdistan Region's vital role in promoting stability within Iraq and the broader region.
