President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Iraq, in Baghdad today.
The discussions centred on key national issues, highlighting the importance of advancing the implementation of joint agreements and government initiatives across various sectors. This is particularly significant following the recent approval of amendments to the federal budget law by the House of Representatives, aimed at promoting national interests, strengthening the economy, and addressing the country's needs.
Both leaders agreed on the necessity to expedite the resumption of oil production by companies in the Kurdistan Region and to facilitate the export of oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, which will benefit all of Iraq.
President Nechirvan Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's commitment to resolving outstanding issues with Baghdad and fostering ongoing relationships, coordination, and cooperation among relevant parties and the federal government. This collaborative approach seeks to enhance development, improve service delivery, and bolster stability throughout the nation.
