On the second day of the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia.
Their meeting focused on enhancing the relationship between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Armenia, exploring avenues for collaboration in areas such as economy, culture, labor, and trade. They also deliberated on the potential for a direct flight connection between Erbil and Yerevan.
President Barzani conveyed the Kurdistan Region's readiness to deepen ties with Armenia, highlighting the potential for cooperation across various sectors that would benefit both parties.
In response, Prime Minister Pashinyan articulated Armenia's interest in broadening its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, commending the region's role as a model of coexistence and stability.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the political and security landscape in the Middle East, along with several other matters of mutual concern.
