As part of his visit to Baghdad, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the National Wisdom Movement.
The President congratulated Sayyid Al-Hakim on the successful congress and his re-election as leader of the Hikma movement, and extended his best wishes to the new leadership. Sayyid Al-Hakim thanked President Nechirvan Barzani in return.
Their discussions focused on the political landscape in Iraq and ongoing efforts to enhance stability. Both sides stressed the importance of national dialogue and mutual understanding among political forces as key to addressing challenges and ensuring unity and cohesion among communities.
They concurred that the forthcoming government should be based on true partnership and should prioritize improving services and enhancing the welfare of citizens. In this regard, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim expressed his appreciation for President Nechirvan Barzani’s balanced and national approach in promoting unity among parties and addressing current challenges.
The meeting also addressed regional developments and the need to safeguard Iraq from the repercussions of tensions, highlighting the importance of protecting the country’s interests and sovereignty.
