Continuing his meetings in Munich, Germany, President Nechirvan Barzani met with the US Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken.
The meeting covered a number of issues, including the latest visit of the Iraqi delegation to Washington and their discussions with the US officials there; the meeting also focused on the development of the bilateral relations of the US with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region within the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two sides.
Mr. Blinken reaffirmed his country’s commitment to relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and stressed the importance of stable relations between Erbil and Baghdad and resolving their pending differences.
President Nechirvan Barzani presented an overview of the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and highlighted the significance of America’s continued support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in confronting the current challenges.
