President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani in Munich on Saturday morning, during the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting addressed the political and security situation in Syria and Iraq, focusing on strategies to enhance regional stability. Additionally, it highlighted the circumstances of Syrian communities, emphasizing the necessity of safeguarding their rights and ensuring their involvement in shaping the future of the country.
President Barzani emphasized the significance of safeguarding the rights of the Kurdish people as well as all communities in Syria. He highlighted the necessity of fostering peace and stability, advocating for the resolution of issues through dialogue and mutual understanding, and striving for a secure future for every community in Syria.
Mr. al-Shaibani emphasized Syria's dedication to fostering stability and establishing conducive conditions for national dialogue. He also highlighted Syria's intention to enhance its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, aiming to strengthen collaborative efforts in tackling the challenges currently faced.
The meeting also addressed the regional context and shared challenges, focusing on potential avenues for future collaboration aimed at fostering stability and peace in the area.
