President Nechirvan Barzani met with Major General Joel B. Vowell, the Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, along with his accompanying delegation.
The central focus of their discussion revolved around the pressing security concerns and the continuous threat of terrorism, particularly emanating from ISIS, which poses a persistent danger to the stability and peace of Iraq and Syria. Stressing the critical importance of continuous cooperation and coordination among the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army, and the Coalition Forces, the meeting underscored the urgent need for collective efforts to combat these threats.
The meeting, attended by the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs and his Chief of Staff, also delved into the achievements of the reform process within the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, as well as the reunification of the Peshmerga forces. In this context, both sides emphasized the crucial necessity of providing ongoing support to this process and removing any obstacles that could hinder its progress.
