During the second day of the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Senator Elissa Slotkin, a member of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.

The discussion focused on the relationship between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and the United States, emphasizing ways to enhance collaboration in security and defense. They also addressed recent developments in the fight against terrorism and the ongoing efforts of the international coalition to counter the ISIS threat.

President Barzani expressed gratitude for the support provided by the United States to both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the training and capacity building of the Peshmerga forces as part of the international coalition. He underscored the importance of sustained assistance to foster stability in the region.
