President Nechirvan Barzani received a phone call from Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani.
The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region and their broader implications. Both sides condemned the recent attacks targeting cities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, reiterating that Iraqi soil must not be used to threaten or attack neighboring countries. They also expressed shared support for efforts to promote peace and stability across the region.
Both parties emphasized the importance of resolving the tensions through a unified approach and dialogue among the national forces, in order to protect the country’s sovereignty and ensure national security.
President Nechirvan Barzani underscored that the Kurdistan Region will remain a factor of peace, and supports all national efforts designed to shield Iraq from the adverse effects of regional conflict.
