President Nechirvan Barzani received Joshua Harris, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, along with a delegation.
Their discussions focused on the relations between the United States and Iraq, as well as the Kurdistan Region, the outcomes of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, the future of the political landscape in the country, and the internal circumstances within the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening US relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, agreeing that the United States shares mutual interests and values with both. They also explored potential areas for collaboration.
They viewed the success of the parliamentary elections as a significant and positive development, expressing hope that it would contribute to advancing the political process in the country and meet the expectations of its citizens.
The discussions also covered relations between Erbil and Baghdad, cooperation between the Kurdish parties, the situation in the Kurdistan Region, and the broader regional context.
