President Nechirvan Barzani received the Head of the Diwan of the Government of Iraq Sunni Endowment, Dr. Saad Hamid Kambash, and his accompanying delegation.
Topics discussed included political developments, the upcoming general elections and combating terrorism. Preserving stability, peaceful coexistence, and promoting tolerance among all communities was reaffirmed. Also reaffirmed was resolving disputes in accordance with Iraq's Constitution, which guarantees the rights of all communities.
To serve the best interests of the country, President Barzani emphasized that all communities should take part in the political process.
To promote a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, Dr. Kambash affirmed the importance of confronting extremism and violence. The delegation expressed their gratitude to President Barzani for the Kurdistan Region hosting citizens displaced by ISIS from Sunni areas.
The delegation staff of the Diwan included the General Manager of Administration, Dr. Muhammad Nuri Al-Hatami; Dean of the College of Imam Aazam, Dr. Mashaan Khalil Al-Khazrji; and the General Manager of Coordination, Mr. Nuraddin Muhammad Hamid.
