President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Albrecht von Wittke, the newly appointed Consul General of Germany in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, the German Consul General extended his congratulations to President Nechirvan Barzani and the people of Kurdistan on the success of the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections. He expressed his appreciation for the impressive voter turnout. Additionally, they engaged in discussions regarding the forthcoming phase and the initiatives aimed at establishing the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Both parties emphasized Germany's shared commitment to enhancing relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as to broadening collaborative efforts, particularly in sectors vital to the Kurdistan Region. In this context, President Nechirvan Barzani conveyed the Kurdistan Region's appreciation for Germany's assistance to both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides also engaged in a dialogue regarding the regional situation and the implications of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
