On the 29th anniversary of the founding of Lalesh Cultural Centre, I offer my congratulations to its staff members and all our Yezidi sisters and brothers. With utmost appreciation, we value the Centre’s undertakings and activities which have greatly contributed to the Kurdish cultural heritage.

On this occasion, we reassure our Yezidi sisters and brothers of our unyielding commitment to supporting their rights. We will continue with our duty of rescuing and uncovering the fate of all Yezidis who are still missing, and we spare no efforts to help all the displaced a safe return to their home areas.

At the same time, we are greatly concerned that our Yezidi sisters and brothers are once again forced to leave Shingal district. We urge the Iraqi government, in close cooperation with Kurdistan Regional Government, to exert all efforts to restore peace in Shingal and all Yezidi areas, to reconstruct the district and bring it back to life.

On this occasion, we pay tribute to the former Head of Lalesh Cultural Centre, the late Sheikh Shamo who passed away earlier this year. His contributions and services will be remembered. May he Rest In Peace.

Nechirvan Barzani
The President of the Kurdistan Region
