In a meeting between President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani and Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian, latest political and security developments in the area, strengthening of relations between Erbil and Paris in different fields, and the efforts made for resolving outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad in accordance with constitution were all discussed.
In the meeting which was held on Wednesday July 10, 2019 in Paris, the condition of refugees and displaced persons in the Kurdistan Region, role of international community especially France in assisting the return of refugees to their homes, required actions in post-Daesh era in rebuilding and providing services for devastated areas and the continued aid and support of France to the Kurdistan Region during challenging times were all discussed.
Investment opportunities for French companies in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, praising of coexistence and tolerance in the Kurdistan Region, possible threats of Daesh were all among discussed topics.
