Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani chaired a joint meeting of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), and the Change Movement (Gorran) at the Office of the President.
It was decided that a senior political and government delegation from the Kurdistan Region visit Baghdad immediately to meet with the federal government and Iraqi political parties. The purpose of this meeting is to reach an agreement on the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region to be included in the 2021 draft federal budget.
Joint support for the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) revenue and expenditure reforms was affirmed. A joint agreement was declared to take all available steps towards ensuring payment of monthly compensation and to address legitimate grievances and demands.
Peacefully demonstrating is a lawful right. Violence and property damage are unlawful and adversely affect resolving grievances and demands.
