President Nechirvan Barzani offered his congratulations to Mr. Bafel Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), on the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the PUK, during a phone conversation on Thursday. The President extended his congratulations to the PUK Supreme Political Council, the Political Bureau, the Leadership Council and all members and supporters of the party, and wished them success.
The President referred to the struggle and history of the PUK and recalled the late President Mam Jalal and his role and contributions, and hoped that this anniversary would encourage unity and solidarity among the political parties, especially between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
For his part, the PUK President, on behalf of himself and the PUK leadership, expressed his appreciation for the congratulatory call from the President of the Kurdistan Region and wished him success.
