The President of Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani and the Prime Minister of Federal Government of Iraq stressed on solving the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government of Iraq in accordance with the constitution.
In a positive and friendly meeting, it was decided to initiate a new era for solving the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government of Iraq. Next week, a joint committee will agree on an agenda to convene a meeting on the cases of the article 140, the oil, the budget, financial issues, the Peshmerga and other outstanding issues. Preparations will begin for finding solutions for outstanding issues in accordance with the Iraqi constitution.
Both sides agreed that the next phase in Iraq and the wider region needs full cooperation between the Federal Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. As there are new viable chances for solving the issues, such chances should be used in the interest of whole Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The President of Kurdistan Region reasserted that the strategy of Kurdistan Region is with Baghdad, and the solution for the issues can be found in Baghdad; therefore, the Kurdistan Region is ready to resolve all the issues in accordance with the constitution aligned with national interests.
