President Nechirvan Barzani met with Volker Perthes, Head of the Independent Strategic Review of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), at the Munich Security Conference this evening.
The President expressed gratitude to the United Nations for their presence and positive role in all areas in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
For his part, Mr. Perthes emphasized his team's responsibility to assess and evaluate the UN agencies’ work and initiatives in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The two parties also exchanged perspectives regarding the current security and political developments in Iraq, as well as the broader regional situation.
